“What’s Your Excuse” – Luke 9:57-62

Luke 9: 57-62

The text referenced above tells the story of several gentlemen who conveniently found a excuse not to follow Jesus when he said “follow me.”  There is the account of one who said let him say goodbye to his family first and another who said let me go and bury my father first.  If we take a good look at ourselves, we will notice we are no better than these men.  Far too often we develop some mystery illness or remember a “appointment” when we are called upon to do work in the Lord’s name.  Tomorrow may be too late to try to play catch up and make things right because as we all know tomorrow isn’t promised to us.  So, the question we need to constantly ask ourselves is “are we gonna answer God’s call or  more important, what’s your excuse going to be on judgment day?”
