“Play Your Position” Luke 10:38-42

Luke 10: 38-42

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

We all need balance in our lives.  Sometimes we get caught up in what we feel is important and don’t take time out for the small things which the majority of the time is where we should focus.  One way to keep that balance or to “play your position” is to seek God for your purpose.  God created each individual with a specific purpose or assignment in mind. We should learn to stay in our lane and do whatever it you do and do it the way that God intended.  We can’t be all things for everybody.  One thing you should ask yourself is are you going to labor like Martha or will you sit and listen at the feet of Jesus as Mary did in the passage referenced above.

Be Blessed
